H.E. Mr Gunnar Wieslander is State Secretary for Foreign Trade in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden. After completing college, he served as a submarine commander from 1984 to 1994. He also taught military strategy and security policy at the National Defence College between 1996 and 1998, and worked as a military expert at the Department of Defence from 2003 to 2006.

 
   
Dr Enric Sala is a National Geographic Society Ocean Fellow. He is a marine biologist actively engaged in research, exploration, communication and the application of scientific knowledge related to the conservation of marine ecosystems. One of his present goals is to help protect the last pristine marine ecosystems worldwide. His scientific publications are widely recognised and used in real-world policymaking, and his experience and scientific expertise contributes to his service on scientific advisory boards of international environmental organisations.

Dr Sala is a 2005 Aldo Leopold Leadership Fellow, a 2006 Pew Fellow in Marine Conservation, a 2007 National Geographic Emerging Explorer and a 2008 Young Global Leader at the World Economic Forum in Davos. He also received the 2006 Prince of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities with National Geographic.

03. Dr Jon Perlman is Clinical Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at the UCLA Medical Center and has been in private practice in Beverly Hills, California since 1980. Dr Perlman performed more than two dozen plastic surgical makeovers for the ABC TV Network show “Extreme Makeover”.

Dr Maximilian Martin is Chief Strategist and Global Head of Social Investments at IJ Partners. He also serves as Visiting Professor at the University of Geneva, where he teaches philanthropy and social entrepreneurship in the MBA programme, and lectures at the University of St. Gallen.

In 2003, Dr Martin developed the first university course on social entrepreneurship in Europe for the University of Geneva and the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship. Dr Martin holds a Master in Anthropology from Indiana University, a Master in Public Administration from Harvard University and a PhD in Economic Anthropology from the University of Hamburg.

   

Mr Roland Heiler is a lifelong aficionado of automotive and technical styling. Since 2004, he has been the Managing Director of the Porsche Design Studio in Zell am See. Mr Heiler trained as a technical draftsman in Germany before receiving a Master’s degree in Automotive Design from the Royal College of Art in London. Before joining the Porsche Design Group he held various positions as a designer at Porsche AG.

 

   
Mr Glen Felgate is a media professional of 20 years’ standing. Originally from a broadcast journalism background, Mr Felgate’s work with Reuters (now Thomson Reuters) has seen him cover some of the world’s top stories. A regular visitor to the World Economic Forum in Davos in the ‘90s, Mr Felgate has interviewed numerous world leaders – from heads of state to captains of industry. He has also worked in print, radio and public relations. Most recently he has been spending his time setting up and running TV Channels in “frontier” markets. In his spare time, he likes to sail and dive – hence his passion for the oceans and his interest in our work at Dazzling Oceans.
   
Ms Shirley Robertson is one of the greatest female Olympic sailors of all time. She won her first Olympic gold medal in the Europe class at the 2000 Summer Olympics. In the 2004 Summer Olympics, her crew in the Yngling class clinched the gold medal with one race to spare. Ms Robertson was named female sailor of the year by the International Sailing Federation in 2000, and was awarded an MBE in 2001 and an OBE in 2004.

She is the host of Mainsail, a CNN monthly programme devoted to the sailing world. She was also a reporter for the BBC's sailing coverage at the 2008 Summer Olympics.

   
Mr Jeremy Pink is Senior Vice President for Business News with CNBC, New York. With two decades of media experience spanning three continents, his role includes collaborating across divisions to effectively utilise the worldwide resources of CNBC, NBC Universal and parent company GE.
   
Mr Nick McElwee is Managing Director of TBWA\RAAD, charged with building the Agency and operating all Global advertising for the UAE’s National Carrier, Etihad Airways. Working with clients such as TDIC, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management and twofour54, the Agency has been a great commercial and creative success. In summer 2010, it was awarded Abu Dhabi’s first ever Cannes Lions for film work done with the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority.

Later this year Mr McElwee will join Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management as Director, where he will be responsible for the marketing of the Yas Marina Circuit brand including Abu Dhabi’s prestigious F1 event.

   
Mr Michael James Brown Dazzling Oceans’ very own discovery, the talented Mr. Michael James Brown gave up his career as an accountant to pursue his dream of photography. Mr. Brown has won multiple gold medals in the prestigious international photographic competition, the Trierenberg Super Circuit, and has staged successful solo exhibitions of his iconic panoramic landscape images in both London, andhis homeland, Australia. His passion of sharing the wonder of creation and the beauty of the environment can be found in his gallery at the prestigious Q1 Resort & Spa on Australia’s Gold Coast.
   
Ms Karen Koh is the co-founder of HealthCura, a healthcare management services company. She started her career as an Administrative Officer in the Singapore Civil Service, and held different appointments at the Ministry of Finance, Inland Revenue Department and Monetary Authority of Singapore. In 2001, she became Deputy CEO of Singapore Health Services Pte Ltd and Deputy CEO of Singapore General Hospital, both major public healthcare institutions in Singapore, and held these positions until she left the public sector to pursue her entrepreneurial interests. Ms Koh has since been an advisor to clients in the healthcare, investments and education sectors. She studied Economics at Cambridge University and has a Master in Public Administration, and International Tax Program (Certificate) from Harvard University.
